Hi, my name is Eric Schippers. I have been thinking about running for Wyomissing Area School Board for several years, and after consulting with my family and friends, I decided now is the time to throw my hat into the ring!

Personal Background
I am the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for PENN Entertainment (formerly Penn National Gaming), which is headquartered in Wyomissing, and have lived in our community for over 20 years. My wife, Kathleen, was born and raised here and is a proud graduate of the Wyomissing Area School District. In addition to overseeing my company’s legislative affairs, I serve as Chairman of PENN’s charitable foundation, which partners with numerous local organizations, including Opportunity House, Helping Harvest, Olivet Boys and Girls Club, and the IM ABLE Foundation, among others. My wife and I are also longtime supporters of the Wyomissing Area Education Foundation (WAEF), including the Blue & White gala.
In addition to our oldest son Noah, who graduated from Wyomissing Area Jr./Sr. High School in 2018, we have a son, Aiden, who just started his senior year. He plays for the varsity basketball team and is a member of the National Honor Society. We also have a daughter, Kalia, who is a freshman and she plays soccer and basketball and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I have greatly enjoyed volunteering for my kids sports teams over the years during their time at Wyomissing Hills and West Reading Elementary Center and cherish the friendships I’ve developed with other parents and coaches along the way.
Why Me?
I’m hoping to bring to the Board my 30+ year successful track record of fiscal responsibility and managing complex budgets, along with my extensive problem-solving and consensus-building skills from having worked in and around local and state government throughout my career. If elected, I promise to listen to the concerns of all residents across Wyomissing and West Reading, and on both sides of the political aisle, and to work together to continue to drive positive change for the Wyomissing Area School District.
